Brownsville, WI (the gateway to the Horicon Marsh) has been producing award winning summer sausage since 1962.
Hoff’s was founded by the late Wayne Hoff of Brownsville. Wayne and his wife Dorothy were committed to making quality products and offering friendly customer service. During the earlier years the main part of
Hoff’s business was custom slaughtering. As the small farms in the area began to disappear the business started to shift more towards retail ventures. Although Hoff’s still slaughters today, 90% of the business is retail sales.
Wayne’s son Tim started working for his father when he was just ten years old. He began working full time in 1983. Tim and his wife Mindy took the business over in 1997 after Wayne passed away. Hoff’s continues to be family operated, along with Tim and Mindy, three sons also work part time for the business. Dorothy can still be found running the cash register or making one of her delicious potato salads or other deli items. In recent years
Hoff’s has become well known for their bratwurst.
